2 4 1 :: OOTD featuring Valentina

Hey Guys!
Yesterday I went to town with one of my Uni friends and we did a bit of cheeky shopping. Valentina is on my Marketing course and she is also quite into her fashion so I thought what better than to do a double outfit of the day post with her for you guys! She is actually thinking of starting her own blog so when she does I'll let you know so you can follow it if you like her style.
Valentina is off to London Fashion Weekend this weekend so the aim of the shopping trip was primarily to find her an outfit for Sunday. If you want to see what she gets up to/ what she wears you can follow her on Instagram @valentinabe :-)

Just to put it out there, I rarely dress up at uni. I am usually spotted wearing black jeans, a random top, my denim jacket and some vans. (Yes I am a culprit of the double denim no-no but I couldn't care less.) I always say this but I AM going to try to make more of an effort to dress up a bit more (she says sitting in a plain jersey bodycon skirt and stripy top). The only thing is,  making an effort is too much effort... go figure ehy.

On another note, I'm thinking of doing a 'uni room/closet tour' blogpost but I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in that so I'd appreciate it if you left a comment letting me know if you would like to see that :-)

Hey Guys,
Long time no speak but I hope you are all well!
Uni has been crazy busy this term! Finding a balance of work and play is difficult enough without the whole blogging thing being thrown in but I think I'm starting to figure it all out so I apologise for my absence but I'm back!
So seeing as the winter season is drawing to an end and we're all starting to get into the spring mood, I thought I'd share some of the trends I've fallen in love with and pieces I really want to get my hands on.
1) Denim.  Whilst Denim is a classic and it technically never goes 'out of fashion', I feel that this spring it will be one of those things which I will want in every form (ie. dress, top, skirt, jacket etc) and frankly, it seems as if I'll be spoilt for choice as so many stores basically have this covered.
I love Topman's denim bomber jacket, its a great twist on the standard denim jacket and I think the depth of the colour will make it easy to rock a double denim look.
2) Monochrome. As most of you are probably aware, monochrome is a big trend this spring which means I now I have an excuse to just wear black and white all the time. Monochrome is a great way of looking sleek without making too much of an effort and it allows you to be bolder when accessorising.
3) Smock. I have undoubtedly fallen in love with smock dresses. I love the way they fall and sit so casually. I think these dresses suite all body types and are really easy to style. Chuck on some boots, a leather jacket, funky sunglasses and you're good to go! I particularly love the abstract designs which ASOS have in stock at the moment and I can't wait to get my hands of a few of these this Spring.
4) Neon. So whilst Neon was on trend last season, I feel like it will carry on through to Spring. I love this trend because its so easy to style. Having something neon coloured allows you to keep the rest of your outfit quite neutral without looking boring which makes it perfect for those lazy days when you still want to look decent without putting in too much effort.
5) Footwear. In terms of footwear this spring, woven shoes are already my favourite style and I particularly love this tan pair from Topshop which I think is the perfect spring shoe. I still think flatforms are great for spring/ summer and I'm particularly lusting over the vibrant pair from ASOS (see above).
6) Sunnies. If I could, I'd wear sunglasses all year round but I don't think that would be socially acceptable but as soon as spring roles around, the Sunnies are coming out. I think a nice pair of shades really add to an outfit and give it that added 'oomf'. Nasty Gal have some amazing shades in stock; some are a quite pricey but others are fairly reasonable.

I hope everyone has an amazing week and if you're on half term... I'm very envious of you right now!

Lots of Love,
